“The 2023 edition of the Lerici Music Festival represents a very special opportunity for me. The anniversary of Maria Callas’ birth gave me the fundamental spark to create a programme dedicated entirely to women in music. ‘Protagonists’, therefore, will showcase great performers, composers, icons of theatre, literature and film. And of course, there will be no shortage of homage to Callas, with an extraordinary Tosca in concert, entrusted to the voices of Carmen Giannattasio, Joseph Calleja and Sir Bryn Terfel (with a much-awaited return to Lerici after last year’s sensational performance).

It will, in short, be a festival full of surprises and a variety of artists. On the bill are evenings devoted to opera, symphony concerts, chamber concerts, crossover and musical theatre performances to enrich the musical setting of the Gulf of Poets. Two weeks of great music during which Lerici will host young talent and big international stars in residence.
