Francesca Simonelli
Francesca Simonelli graduated with Honours at the Conservatory “G. Puccini” of La Spezia. Soon after she earned Masters degrees for Performance and Education. From very young she stood out in the Italian and foreign musical panorama, performing in Italy, Russia, Poland and Germany.
Since 2011 she has been tenor saxophonist in the “ExclusIVe Saxophone Quartet” winning several contests and recording for Vatican Radio, as well as for the labels Sheva and Da Vinci.
Since 2017 she has been a member of “Hemingway Ensemble”, an evocative project that mixes music and theatre with the actor Roberto Alinghieri. In 2021 she collaborated with Lerici Festival Orchestra, conducted by the renowned Maestro Daniele Rustioni.
Francesca is currently teaching “Saxophone Interpretation” and “Woodwind Ensemble” at the Liceo Musicale “Niccolò Forteguerri” in Pistoia (Italy).
