Martina Consonni
Martina Consonni is one of the most promising young Italian pianists of her generation. Born in Como (Italy) in 1997 she had already achieved a Diploma in piano by the age of 14 with the full marks and highest honours from the Vittadini Conservatory in Pavia. She began studying piano when she was 6 years old, taught by Claudia Boz, following with a debut with an orchestra at 10 years old and more than 55 first prizes in national competitions and an intense programme of concerts in Italy and abroad, as a soloist and in chamber music.
When she was only 14 years old she was invited to participate as the youngest competitor at the prestigious Venice Prize, organized by “La Fenice” and reserved for the best graduates. She was awarded the prestigious “Prize Casella” and as a result she gave numerous recitals in Italy to great acclaim from the public and critics.
Martina has been a solo recitalist all over the world including Palazzo Marino in Milano; Sala Mozart dell’Accademia Filarmonica in Bologna; at ‘Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, at Musée Debussy in Paris, in St. Stephen Church, New York and at the Royal Albert Hall, London.Her love of chamber music has taken her to international chamber music festivals including Kronberg Academy Festival, Mantova Trame Sonore, Imola Summer Festival collaborating with numerous instrumentalists such as Enrico Dindo, Enrico Bronzi, Francesca Dego, Daniel Palmizio, Luca Magariello, Edoardo Zosi e Francesco Dillon.
In 2021 Martina achieved the Daniel Gay Award, given for young Italian talent in the classical music world with a particular focus on chamber music. She has made various recordings for Venice Classic Radio, for independent labels Movimento Classical di Bartok Studio and for Rai Radio Tre. Having received her Masters in Chamber Music at Santa Cecilia, a Diploma dell’Accademia di Imola with Maestro Enrico Pace and a Masters as a soloist from the Hochschule in Hannover with Arie Varda, she is currently continuing to hone her performance in Andreas Schiff’s prestigious class at Kronberg Academy.
In the coming season Martina will make her debut at the Rheingau Music Festival in Germany, Wigmore Hall, London and the Konzerthaus, Berlin.
