Erica Piccotti

Biography

Erica Piccotti, born in Rome in 1999, she received her diploma in cello when she was only 14 years old, with maximum marks, honours and honourable mention at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome under the guidance of Francesco Storino. She continued her studies with Antonio Meneses at the Hochschule der Kunste in Berne and the W. Stauffer Academy in Cremona. Since October 2017 she has been attending the Kronberg Academy with Frans Helmerson. She has won numerous prizes in national and international competitions, among them the “Premio Nazionale delle Arti”, “Jugend Musiziert” in Nuremberg, “NYIAA Competition” which victory allowed her to perform at the Carnegie Hall, New York, International Cello Competition “Antonio Janigro” for young cellists and recently 2nd place at the Johannes Brahms Competition. Among recognitions are the “Adriana Giannuzzi” prize as best cellist of the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, “Rotary Club di Roma” prize, “Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena” prize, “Inner Wheel” prize, “Rotary Club Cremona” prize. She plays a Francesco Ruggeri (Cremona, 1692) cello kindly granted by the Micheli Foundation in Milan.
