Ludovica Rana

Biography

Ludovica Rana is already laureate of prestigious competitions, such as the 30° Rassegna Nazionale d’Archi M. Benvenuti in Vittorio Veneto in 2010 and the 9th International Competition for young cellists A. Janigro in Croatia in 2012. Special Prize at Premio delle Arti, competition organized by Italian Ministry for Education and Research, and Young Virtuoso Prize at First Manhattan International Music Competition. Graduated with top marks and laude at the Conservatory of Music G. Paisiello in Taranto, Ludovica Rana in 2016 is graduated at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano with Enrico Dindo and since January 2012 she has attended the Pavia Cello Academy. Now she is studing cello in Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia with Giovanni Sollima. At the same time she has taken part to masterclasses of great cellists such as Conradin Brotbek, Michael Flaksman, Johannes Goritzki, Gary Hoffman, Antonio Meneses, Antonio Mosca, Jelena Ocic, Asier Polo, Rafael Wolfish. Moreover she attended lessons with Miklós Perényi at Kronberg Academy Festival. Besides being soloist in many venues (Società dei Concerti in Milano, Festival di Pietrasanta, Musica Insieme Bologna, Varignana Chamber Music Festival, Amiata Piano Festival,Classiche Forme). Ludovica is an avid chamber musician: among others, she played with Enrico Dindo, Pablo Ferrandez, Quartetto di Cremona, deliann::quartet,Bruno Giuranna, Oleg Kaskiv, Marcello Panni, Massimo Quarta, Danilo Rossi, Alessandro Taverna; she often plays with her sister Beatrice Rana. Ludovica plays a cello by Claude Augustin Miremont (1870). Since 2018 she is supported by Musica con le Ali Association
